As well as providing a new twist on many of the traditional treatments used by physiotherapy (as described below), at Whitehall Physiotherapy we also provide:

Hands-on Treatment

Our physiotherapists use hands-on treatment to assess and diagnose pain without our patients needing to see a doctor first.  All the physiotherapists at Whitehall Physiotherapy have post-graduate training in several different approaches to hands-on treatment ensuring that we can treat your muscles, joints and body as a whole.

Shockwave Therapy

This revolutionary treatment for tendon problems is used by the MOD and several Olympic and Professional sports teams.  It can be used to treat many frustrating and previously difficult to treat conditions including: tennis elbow, knee pain, Achilles tendon pain and shoulder pain.  We are now one of the few clinics in the North of England to provide this sought after treatment approach.

Microcurrent Therapy

This effective, science-based treatment can help many painful conditions we regularly treat at Whitehall Physiotherapy.  Microcurrent therapy has been widely studied in the USA and is now gaining popularity in the UK.  We provide in-clinic use of the Alpha-Stim device which many of our clients love as a quick way to relieve pain.

Treatment sessions are approximately 45 minutes and are focused on treating you and your condition.

Bio Mechanical Screening

At Whitehall Physiotherapy we use the Functional Movement Screen (FMS) to rate and grade how people move.  This helps us track progress and guide a plan to help you reduce risk of injury, recover from pain or surgery and even improve performance at work or sport.  It is a great tool for employers or sports coaches to prevent time off due to injury.  One of our physiotherapists is certified in the FMS so if you want to know how your movement compares next to elite athletes ask to be screened when your next in.

Dynamic Neuromuscular Stabilisation (DNS)

Is an approach to rehabilitation developed in Prague and is used by many top sports stars to stay in condition.  DNS is also helpful to those with pain who have failed with previous approaches. At Whitehall Physiotherapy many of our patients are shown DNS inspired exercises and will often say they feel great afterwards!
