Here at Whitehall Physiotherapy we offer a variety of physiotherapy and sports injury treatments, due to our continuing success and growth of the business, we are able to welcome a new member of the team.
We’d like to welcome Beth Burnhill, who will be our new sports masseur. Beth studied Sports Science at the University of Leeds, and graduated at the end of last year. Beth wants to use the knowledge she gained from her degree and put it in a working environment. Every young graduate has the problem of finding work when they finish, and the direction they want to take their career; we offered Beth the opportunity of Sports masseur so she can further her skills and get a taste of this industry; if she enjoys this area she wants to continue her career within physiotherapy.
Beth is interested in this area of work and chose to work in this field because she has a passion for sport, she wants to help people who suffer from sports injuries so that they can continue to do what they love. In this role Beth is able to meet new people every day, and in doing so can learn how to handle various situations, because everyone is different and requires a different need. Beth is especially interested in learning more about Rehabilitation, this is where you help a patient function normally using special movements. In our rehabilitation services at Whitehall Physiotherapy we show patients what movements might be contributing to their problem and coach them, in terms of how best to sit, stand and walk and which exercises patients can do to reduce discomfort. We also advise which exercises is best to avoid. We allow all our patients to practice thoroughly with us to make sure they fully understand the information given.
Outside of work, Beth plays netball every chance she gets and also coaches locally; training kids under the age of 14. Beth likes to do her part in the community and likes helping kids to be active and enjoy playing sports. Netball is a great source of exercise and even better for making friends, she encourages any young person to get involved.
Beth is very excited to start her new career as a sports masseur; she is feeling confident about working with us and she can’t wait to gain valuable practical experience from us.
